PYTHON PHOTOBOOTH

A desktop photobooth application written in Python. It opens the camera, counts down, takes three photos and assembles them into a vertical photo strip with an optional footer, then switches to a review screen where the strip can be customised and saved. The live feed takes up most of the window with a framing rectangle, while the strip panel fills in photo by photo.

Key contributions:

Built the full capture flow with OpenCV: live camera preview, countdown, timed pauses between photos and a gold framing rectangle marking the crop area.

Designed a review interface with buttons and a text field: toggle the date, add a custom message with automatic line wrapping, convert to black and white and save.

Implemented keyboard shortcuts and a focus system so typing in the text field does not trigger the shortcuts.

Rendered custom UI elements and text with Pillow, using a consistent cream and warm gold colour palette.
